Participation
Interested young scientists should send an application for
participation in electronic form to
Bettina Scheid before 25 November 2005.
In the series of NIC Winter Schools this School is the first with
hands-on training. There will be simulation labs with focus on
A - solids, surfaces, magnetism (FLEUR, KKR-GF)
B - dynamics, reactions, fluctuations (CPMD)
C - molecules, clusters, structures, and spectra (TURBOMOLE)
Therefore, the number of participants has to be restricted to about 40.
The participants will be selected by the programme committee on the basis
of the scientific background of the applicants.
The application should include
| a short CV |
 | a short description of the work of the group, in which
the applicant is involved |
 | a short description of his own part of the work |
 | a letter of recommendation of his supervisor |
 | a statement on the preferred topic (first and second preference)
for the practical sessions. |

Registration and Fee
Together with the notification about a positive decision on the application, a registration form will be mailed in December 2005.
Please note:
We had an overwhelming response to this School.
Therefore the assessment of all incoming applications will
take some time. All applicants will be informed about the
decision of the scientific programme committee.
Participation fee: 100 €
Participants are asked to bear travel and accommodation costs themselves.
Besides the highly subsidized fee, which includes
meals, social events, and the lecture notes, there is only a small grant
from the ESF Psi-k Network for further support.
Accommodation
Participants will be accommodated in Aachen. The fee includes the bus transfers between
Aachen and the Forschungszentrum Jülich.
