JPPC - the Jülich Plant Phenotyping Centre
Plant Phenotyping: International Networks
JPPC will contribute to the International Plant Phenotyping Initiative (IPPI). IPPI will tackle the major tasks
- the development of conceptual frameworks and modelling approaches to analyse plant dynamic performance in fluctuating and heterogeneous environments and at different organisation levels (from the isolated organ to the plant in the field),
- the development of novel methods that allow high-throughput and analytical quantification of key plant performance in controlled and field conditions, and that allow the fast and unbiased screen of a wide diversity of plant genetic resources for materials and compounds
- the implementation of a network of phenotyping platforms and experimental field stations, well equipped for environment and plant control and characterization, and covering a range of environmental conditions, accessible to the plant scientific community and industry,
- the development of bioinformatics databases and data processing tools shared with the international community, in order to be able to exploit the vast datasets from diverse origins.
