Field Screen
automated screening system for high accuracy positioning of non-invasive optical sensors
FieldScreen is an outdoor field system for making automated and repeated optical measurements over grasslands and crop canopies.
The system consists of a large 3 meter high computer-programmable x-y-moving stage that moves cameras and other sensor, such as hyperspectral imager and fluorescence devices to any position that are freely selectable by the user via a PC interface.
The current system covers a ground area of 7 by 15 meters. Accuracy of the system is high and positions can be repeated with 1cm accuracy.
FieldScreen is build from light weight components and can manually be assembled within one day by two people. Thus measurements can take place at various sites which may not be reached by heavy equipment.
FieldScreen is designed for basic and applied research projects aiming for a non-invasive screening of plant performance in the field.
