Arabidopsis grown in a rhizotron
The picture shows an Arabidopsis thaliana plant grown for five weeks in a soil-filled rhizotron.
The rhizotron was put in an angle of 45° to force the roots to grow towards the transparent side of the rhizotron and to make roots visible. Five weeks after sowing the root system has reached a depth of approx. 30 cm.
