IDL

IDL Interactive Data Language is a complete package for the interactive reduction, analysis, and visualisation of scientific data and images. Optimized for the workstation environment, IDL integrates a responsive array oriented language with numerous data analysis methods and an extensive variety of two and three dimensional displays into a powerful tool for researchers.

Developers can use C or FORTRAN programs via the 'call external' facility, 'Link-Image' or via library-style calls.

Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) and CreaSo GmbH (German distributor of IDL) have an agreement about a campus service. JSC is centrally managing the licenses for IDL.
The licenses can also be orderded by a group or institute for their own purpose. Before ordering a new IDL license please contact us.
