Video Conferencing

In late 2000 JSC installed a video conferencing room (building 16.3, basement, room 005), that can be used by the staff of the Research Center ( equipment,  view of the video conferencing room). The installed systems support the operation of audio/video conferences according to the common standards:
  • ISDN (H.320):  four ISDN-Links supporting conferences with up to four participating sites
  • IP (H.323):  point-to-point or point-to-multipoint-connections (using DFN video conferencing service)
  • Duo-Video (H.239): support of a data channel to transfer data (e.g. VGA signal) within a video conference
  • IP-Multicast:  MBone/Access-Grid-based conferences using multiple video streams and high quality audio (up to 10 Mbps)
  • connection of an additional audio participant to an existing conference using an ordinary telephone line
  • DFN video conferencing service also supports the operation of
telephone conferences or mixed video/telephone conferences.
Supporting video streams from external sources (document camera, VCR, DVD player) can be transmitted.
